Welcome! I’m Nick Cash, editor and author at LikeTreesPlanted.com. I’m a 40-year-old husband and father of four from Columbus, Georgia, in the USA. I am not a super-Christian, but I am convinced that discipleship is the God-given ability of EVERY believer! Ordinary people like you and me CAN walk with God successfully on a daily basis! I want to help you do just that.
Discipleship – the process of learning to walk every moment with (and for) Jesus – is a personal passion of mine. I am a collector of resources and strategies for walking successfully with God. I want to share my collection with you! Just remember: it’s not the strategy in the end that results in growth. It is the life of faithful obedience to God that bears the most consistent fruit. LikeTreesPlanted is a blog dedicated to sharing tools to help you follow faithfully in the steps of the Savior.
Several times per month, I will post an idea, a suggestion, a link, a how-to, a strategy, a Scripture, an encouragement, or some other helpful resource to assist you in your followership of Jesus. I invite you to subscribe so that notices of new posts can be sent directly to your email inbox!
Jump In & Engage!
Have a look around the blog, and engage in the conversation with me! A great place to start would be with one of my personal favorite posts:
- Dear Parents of a Miscarried or Still-Born Child
- Falling Forward
- Cash Family “Age 18 List” for our kids
- A father’s prayer and blessing for his daughter
- 10 Tips for Scripture Memory Success (you CAN do this!)
- Breaking Free of Mental Impurity and Sexual Sin
- The Joys and Hardships of Living in Community
- Don’t complicate prayer. Just talk; just listen.
Please DO leave a comment! Offer a different perspective, suggest a question, or recommend your own favorite resource or strategy. I am by no means the authority on the topic of discipleship – I just care about it a great deal. I don’t want this blog to just be my own two cents. In fact, if I may be so bold, I am expecting readers to participate in this with me! I want you to. I need you to!
So I would love to have your input; let’s make this a dialogue! You can even enter your comments anonymously if you wish. I do have a simple list of ground rules, though, just to keep the conversation civil, helpful, truthful, and purposeful. See my Comments Policy for more details.
I also encourage Guest Contributors to post here as well! LikeTreesPlanted is only “mine” in the sense that I created it… but I VERY MUCH want to expand it’s content beyond what I alone can put up here! So if you have an idea for a blog post on spiritual growth, please send me a quick message via email to firstname.lastname@example.org!
A Brief Bio
Dianna and I have four of the most unbelievably cool kids in the universe! Our family spent 2012-2017 working with Mercy Ships, helping provide free life-changing surgeries and medical care to the powerless poor around the continent of Africa. In 2017, we moved back home to Columbus where I joined the staff of Christ Community Church as an Associate Pastor, while Dianna and the kiddos have embarked on the adventure of home-schooling!
