Well, here we are. We’ve finally arrived at Day 1 of our mobilization as a unit. We’ve looked forward to this day for over a year since we found out our unit would be deploying. And now, ready or not, here we are.

A Soldier asked me this morning if I was ready, and I said… “Haha – well – no. But I’ve prepared as best I know how. I’ve sought out other Veterans and received much advice from them. And I’ve prayed as much and as fervantly for this as I have anything else in my life, so… Maybe yes and no? :-) “

I searched out prayers for the start of a new season, for commiting a new endeavor to the Lord, and I editted together this Prayer for the Start of Mobilization from several sources (which I will cite below).

Even if you are finding this post late, please join us in this prayer of dedication. Or if you are or know of a Soldier who is preparing to mobilize and deploy, this can help you pray with them for the start of that journey. A journey for which we prepare like crazy, but for which may never feel fully “ready”…

On behalf of myself and any other Soldier you may pray for, thank you. Thank you for standing with us, praying with us, supporting us as we go and our familes as they remain. Thank you for your encouragement, your love, your friendship, and for remembering us in your hearts and thoughts. We are grateful for you :-)

A Prayer for the Start of Mobilization

Lord, as we embark on this new endeavor together, we humbly seek Your divine guidance. Illuminate our path with Your wisdom, and lead us towards the choices that align with Your perfect plan. Grant us clarity in times of confusion, strength in moments of weakness, and discernment to make sound decisions. May Your Presence be our constant Companion, offering reassurance and peace as only You can. Guide us through the challenges that lie ahead, and let Your light shine brightly upon this mobilization. With You as our compass, we are confident that we can navigate this new chapter with grace and purpose.1

God, thank You calling us and getting us to this point. We know that even in the darkest valleys of our lives, You are with us. Your love has carried us thus far, and we trust Your love as we continue this journey forward. Please renew our hearts and minds in Your love. Help us to leave behind the bitterness and pain of former things. Replace the old and broken ways of our hearts and restore us with Your grace and strength. Fill us with new blessings, joy, and peace. Renew our hearts so that we can be ready for this mobilization together.2

Into your hands, Lord, we commit our lives, our work, and the tasks that await us, our homes and our families, and all of our loved ones. Bless all who are contributing to this mobilization, in whatever capacity or occupation, and may we all, through Your grace, play our part in building Your kingdom on earth. We offer these prayers in the Name of Your Son, our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.3
